AAEI is spotlighting members who are helping lead the Association on key issues, initiatives and projects. This week, the spotlight centers on Virginia Thompson of Thomson Reuters.
Virginia is a longtime AAEI member and currently serves as Chair of AAEI’s Nominating Committee. Throughout the year, Virginia leads the committee’s dual roles for the Association, preparing for the annual governance election and supplying AAEI’s substantive committees with experienced and knowledgeable co-chairs.
Virginia also is the former co-chair of the Border Interagency Committee (formerly the Regulated Industries Committee) and led the work group to develop AAEI’s Blueprint to Trust, which includes concepts that are still being discussed today.
At Thomson Reuters, Virginia is a Senior Product Manager. She is responsible for advancing Import/Export solutions globally to ensure market and regulatory needs are met. Prior to joining the software industry, Virginia had more than 20 years of experience managing the global transportation and trade compliance operations of a major U.S. retailer.
