AAEI’s 102nd Annual Conference and Expo returns to Washington, DC, June 19-21, 2023, the first in the nation’s capital in four years. As the event approaches, AAEI is featuring many of this year’s conference speakers. The spotlight this week is on CBP Executive Director for Trade Remedy and Law Enforcement Eric Choy.
Mr. Choy will be a speaker on one of the first panel sessions of the conference on Forced Labor. Mr. Choy has been instrumental in the implementation of the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA). He is responsible for U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP’s) threat assessment units, special investigations and enforcement programs, with a special focus on Forced Labor violations.
Before taking his role at CBP, Mr. Choy was the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Trade at the Department of Homeland Security responsible for policies and initiatives that enable the flow of legitimate trade, services, capital, and technology across U.S. borders to protect the economy and assure a fair, competitive, and safe trade environment.
Mr. Choy’s panel, Forced Labor, will be moderated by KPMG’s Jessica Libby. It is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. EDT on June 20, 2023.
