AAEI highlights members who are helping lead the Association on key issues, initiatives and projects. This week, the spotlight is on Ramiro Munoz of Yazaki North America.
Yazaki is an auto parts maker based in Japan, and one of the world’s largest privately-owned automotive suppliers. Yazaki produces wire harnesses, power distribution and control products, connectors, driver information systems, and sensors, as well as products for hybrid and electric vehicles. The company is a supplier to virtually every major automotive manufacturer in the world and it has locations in 46 countries.
Yazaki’s focus on international trade includes AAEI’s top issues of 2023, including customs modernization, export controls and ESG compliance.
Ramiro is Yazaki’s Director of Customs and Global Trade Compliance, with 18-years of experience in international trade. He is a licensed customs broker and a certified customs specialist, with a special interest in the corporate compliance aspects of U.S> Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP’s) modernized customs broker regulations which went into effect in December. It’s one of the panel topics at AAEI’s 102nd Annual Conference and Expo, which will be held in Washington, DC, June 19-21, 2023 in Washington, DC.
Before taking his role at Yazaki, Ramiro served as Manager of Global Customs-Trade Compliance at Livingston International, and he is a familiar face to AAEI members and attendees of AAEI’s annual conference.
