AAEI’s Board of Governors approved the Association’s 2022 trade priorities, with a focus on improved engagement with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Partner Government Agencies (PGAs).
The list of 2022 priorities involve some of the most ambitious goals AAEI has ever pursued. They include:
- Customs and Trade Modernization
- Export Modernization
- Forced Labor Enforcement and Compliance
- Port Congestion (Federal Maritime Commission)
- 301 and 232 Tariffs and Section 301 Exclusions
- Routed Export Transaction Regulations
- Multilateralism
- Increase Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) funding to support trade initiatives
- Extension of Generalized System of Preferences
- Passage of Miscellaneous Tariff Bill
- Sanctions and Export Controls
AAEI’s trade priorities are being shared with U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP’s) leadership and informally with leaders of the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC).
